No, I'm not asking for geli to be detected and then attached on key entry,
though that would be nice. It would also be scary as it's so easy to
introduce errors that might make the encryption vulnerable.
I'd simply like it to detect the creation of the .eli device and treat it
like a thumb drive, mounting it using the volume label in /media. I have
determined that the ports utility will require work to DTRT correctly, so
I'm trying the base system version and have been unable to make it work. It
is entirely possible that I am not doing it right and it will work, but
geli devices are different enough that I can't help suspecting that the
cause is not my configuration.
Has anyone successfully used autofs based automount to do this?
